Into the night is a behind-the-scenes photo essay capturing the moments surrounding a night dive. There is spectrum of emotions ranging from a certain heaviness to weightlessness, blended with excitement and anticipation. Captured in the heart of the Red Sea, I decided to shoot mostly in black and white to draw a parallel between the visible and the invisible contrast of the experience.

Visually mimicking the night dive experience, vision underwater becomes defined by light and dark, stripped of color. The weight of the equipment on deck instantly becomes weightless in the water, and the feeling of loneliness associated with the night transforms to safety in numbers when divers buddy up and create a ball of moving light underwater.
